Drone Wireless Network

Drones that are equipped to provide internet availability to remote areas or supply network access during emergencies. These uncrewed aerial vehicles are designed to enhance the coverage, capacity, reliability, and energy efficiency of wireless networks. Together with the aircraft, an airborne platform works by aggregating data traffic from multiple users on the ground. From there, the data is distributed to a series of other UAVs and eventually to a link on the earth’s surface or satellite that connects to the internet.
The uncrewed aircraft can recognize the territory they are flying above, but current units only follow pre-programmed routes. Once they arrive at controlled airspace, the vehicles keep a certain distance from the ground and circulate the area for a determined period of time. By forming a network, these devices can offer an easy-to-deploy solution capable of covering rural or remote areas and hard-to-reach disaster zones.

Challenges
If these networks were to restrict website bandwidth, it might become a barrier to people looking for suppressed content.
Opportunities
Ensures swift responses to gender-based violence emergencies while helping democratize "calls for help."
May increase access to new narratives through videos, music, and text.
