Better Education Management Through Technologies
Better Education Management Through Technologies

New technologies that are already being used or will be used in Education, TVET, and Higher Education are opening the possibility to increase the efficiency of educational institutions and to enhance their quality management. It is expected that emerging technologies can break old attitudes and habits as institutions and professionals reevaluate their methods based on what they learn from these technologies and how they use them. With the insertion of technology applications within Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence domains in the education sector, it is thus foreseen that these emerging technologies will profoundly impact traditional educational frameworks and approaches.

The scenario “Reaching Higher Quality By More Efficient Education Institutions” shows the way into the application of emerging technologies into education and training settings and how better education management is enabled by breaking old habits.

In terms of administering educational institutions, implementing Blockchain Certificate allows schools and universities to reconsider how they legitimize and certify their titles, courses, identification, and educational validations. By employing solutions in the Blockchain at schools and educational institutions, it creates a certification infrastructure that puts both the student and the institution itself in control of full individual records of achievement and accomplishment, from independent courses to a specific subject or unit standard at school. Especially in the context of fragility and forced displacement, this could be a good and valid solution for lost certificates. It could additionally provide more accurate and precise tracking of each student’s development and learning performance. This would allow education to be better tailored to their needs.

Another exciting aspect is the use of Smart Contracts in issuing and validating certificates. They would have the potential to significantly reduce paperwork and be used to verify student attendance or completion of assignments. Also, technologies such as Voice Recognition, Neural Machine Translation, and Automatic Essay Scoring could improve the quality and efficiency of educational institutions. These technologies take advantage of the technology method Natural Language Processing (NLP) —a software that computationally understands human speech in text or audio format by evaluating the meaning and significance of words while completing tasks. In education, the content and cognitive complexity of a written essay could be automatically analyzed, undergo plagiarism detection, provide feedback and even give a score. They can also be used for biometric identification and authentication (Voice Recognition), since specific vocal characteristics, known as voiceprints, make each person unique.

To improve exchange and collaboration, Micro-learning Platforms like Atingi help to provide bite-sized micro-learning content that eases the learning process and keeps engagement high. Another platform-based approach is Cloud Education which allows remote access to the educational environment at any time. Besides providing students with access to homework, research, and extra activities, it can also facilitate interactions between institutions and help administrators. Cloud education may provide not only an accessible and affordable educational system but also serve as a safe platform for data storage.

With such insights, educational institutions may start to consider new products and services that are not so rigid in their format and timeframe and thus better meet the students’ needs and become valuable for all learners in the context of life-long learning.
