Contact lenses embedded with dynamic digital inputs enabling more seamless AR, VR, and MR experiences.
Contact lenses embedded with dynamic digital inputs enabling more seamless AR, VR, and MR experiences.

Contact lenses that can interact with augmented, mixed, and virtual reality more seamlessly compared to headset devices. This device comprises a high-density micro-display located in the middle of medical-grade scleral lenses. It displays high-resolution graphics and texts directly on the retina, overlaying the physical environment with information and allowing users to see data even with their eyes closed. Each lens is equipped with different motion sensors, so the image can be projected in the correct direction and follow eye movement.

The lenses are embedded with a proprietary wireless protocol that connects them to a portable device similar to smartphones. The smartphone enables access to the internet in real-time and to outsource computational power. Tiny built-in batteries could last for a whole day and could be recharged at night wirelessly while the lenses rest inside the cleaning case. With an integrated camera powered with facial recognition and behavioral monitoring methods to identify a target individual, this technology could provide personal identity, social media accounts, and real-time emotional data. Further, built-in sensors could monitor the user's glucose levels, sending real-time data to the lenses' app.
