Solar Roof Tile

Glass-faced tiles that resemble conventional roof shingles capable of generating electric energy from solar power. Unlike traditional roofing, this solution incorporates glass solar layers in the tiles, which, when embedded with light-absorbing electronics, are capable of converting sunlight into electricity.
The roof is composed of a variation of both solar and non-solar tiles. The active tiles are photovoltaic and responsible for harvesting solar energy. The passive tiles make the structure stable and solid. The solar inverters connected to the tiles convert the sunlight into energy to power a whole building or a domestic facility. Different from regular solar panels installed on roofs, this solution replaces entire rooftops, as the glass tiles are the roof itself.
